Powder Pink + Polka dots | OOTD

I’ve fallen in love with this powder pink & polka dot look over and over again because of its subtle yet bold statement. Some folks may think that a bold piece has to be bright, patterned or textured. While those all create bold looks, there are more ways to reach this same goal.

This polka dot top with flared layered sleeves is sponsored by Shein.com and boy is it what this look needs! It’s hard to go wrong with classic black and white polka dots but you can obviously see that this is no ordinary top. The white denim pants and black zip up booties compliment the top while another star shines. This light pink over coat is a real show stopper. I adore that the pink is so light people will have to stare at you to figure out its true color. It has an oversized fit in a classic style. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, for it to actually get cold enough to wear it!

How to Style a Slouchy Tunic | OOTD

No matter how much you love getting dressed up, there will always be a day when a slouchy tunic makes you feel good. It’s loose, comfy, light weight, and cozy at the same time. Luckily, my friends over at The Mint Julep Boutique sponsored this olive green Slouchy Dolman Tunic for me and I will be helping you with simple ideas on how you can style it effortlessly.

As a basis for this look, my Dolman Tunic will be paired with boyfriend jeans and booties for each look. First up, you can style this top with a cool hat. This takes minimal effort yet looks so pulled together.

Another option is to pair it with a puffy vest. This gives you some added warmth, dimension and color contrast.

Lastly, you can wear it as is, grab a pair of sunglasses and head out of the door. There’s nothing wrong with simplicity.

Natural Hair | Tuck & Pin Style

I have had my box braids out for a while now and because of the length of my hair I have had to become very creative with my hair styles. It is sort of an awkward stage when it’s not long enough for some things and not short enough to just leave it alone and wear it as is.

I would classify this look as a tuck & pin style. Tuck & pins are great for any hair length and every hair stays put because of all of the bobby pins you’ll use. To begin, I blew my hair out with my blowdryer.  After it was stretched, I began at the very front in the center of my hair with a light braid/twist. Once each braid/twist is done, secure it with a bobby pin. Start on the right, twist and pin to the opposite side. Then move to the opposite side of your head and repeat. Continue this pattern until you reach the desired place you’d like to stop. Then use the same left to right pattern to braid out the remaining hair. Tuck it under and secure it with a bobby pin. It takes less than five minutes to do and people won’t believe that you did it yourself.

Leave me a comment about your favorite tuck & pin style. Enjoy!

Berry Floral | OOTD

We’ve been teased by a tiny bit of fall weather. Let’s just keep pretending it’s crisp and cool. This OOTD is a berry colored floral dress that I’ve had for years but I’ve only worn it once.

It’s cool to dig in the back of your closet and pull out something that’s like new. It gives you the feeling of shopping but it doesn’t cost you anything. I layered my tried and true faux leather jacket and over the knee boots to complete this look.

Leave me a comment about what you find when you shop in your own close. Enjoy!

Feel the Fringe| OOTD

I’m definitely feeling the fringe! This cool bomber jacket sponsored by Romwe.com is definitely another way to spice up your average bomber jacket. The beauty of it is that it is super light, comfortable, and it has deep pockets. You could even keep this bad boy in rotation during rodeo time.

For this look, I layered this fringe bomber over an off the shoulder maxi dress. I mean, lets face it! When you wake up its in the 60’s but by noon it’s near 80’s. I cozied up my feet with my tried and true Preston Coach booties.

Embroidered Floral Dress | OOTD

Zaful Review: Just wearing this beautiful embroidered dress sponsored by Zaful.com makes my spirits bright! This is a wonderful example of the feminine touch that I love. The gathered structure is light and it moves well with you. Not to mention it will hide any food babies that may arise in the next week or so.

I also like the versatility of this dress. It can be worn as is, as a tunic with leggings, and ever layered with a jacket. I can see this being a dress to put on repeat during this holiday season.

Off the Shoulder Bodysuit | OOTD

Don’t be so quick to store your off the should tops. Living in Houston we know an unseasonably hot day is just around the corner.

A great way to help your summer tops transition to fall is by styling the look with a blazer, vest or sweater. Dresslily.com sponsored this soft, off the shoulder body suit that I love to wear with jeans. I think I’ll be a bit chilly at times so I paired it with a charcoal gray blazer that I thrifted for under $5 and it definitely completes this look. To cozy this look up even more I chose my Preston booties from Coach.

It took me just a few minutes to put this look together because of all the black and gray tones. They just mesh so well together. Leave me a comment about how you plan to style your off the shoulder tops well into fall. Enjoy!

Faux Leather Skirt | OOTD

This is one of my favorite fall looks so far! For me, this OOTD has the variations of traditional fall colors, a fun hat, and a bit of unexpected flair.

Honestly, bringing so many colors together in one look when you LOVE black is not easy but it can be done. My cool army green faux leather skirt is sponsored by Shein.com. It passes the mom test (you can chase your kid with out showing too much skin) and is so comfortable. I pulled out my Natural+Wild+Free comfy tee to keep the look super casual. Layering it with my trusty faux leather jacket that I’ve had for the last 5+ years  helps to tie in the black from my converse. The cherry on top is this AMAZING Phoebe hat from Jaimie Slye. This hat really brings this great look to life! Lets not forget that this hat is crushable/packable and made in the USA. Meaning it’s toddler proof! Need I say more?

Leave me a comment about your favorite way to incorporate multiple fall colors into one look. Enjoy!

Green with Travel Envy | OOTD

Holiday season means travel season too! Most of us will be doing traveling of some sort over the next few months so why not look fashion forward at the same time? The good news is you can, EASILY!

My peeps over at Zaful.com sponsored this beautiful matching sweater and skirt set that will make traveling in style a breeze. When it comes to travel, having a matching set takes the guess work out of the age old question, “what do I wear?” The “ripped” look of this set adds a lot of interest for my folks that refuse to wear boring clothes. I layered a thin tan blazer sponsored by Rosegal.com  over this set to compliment the green color and keep the airport/airplane chill away. Comfy shoes are a must for running to your gate so my Chucks were an easy choice. Grab your carry on bag and you’re ready to look like a true fashionista while hitting the road.

Leave me a comment and tell me about you favorite travel attire. Enjoy!

Black + Black | OOTD

Wearing all black is such a beautiful thing when you can get all of your  blacks to match. Ha ha!  When you wear black all of the time you know exactly what I mean. This cold shoulder ruffled shirt dress sponsored by MakeMeChic.com will make your life that much easier. The “all black” look is easier to achieve when you have fewer pieces to include. All this dress needs is shoes and accessories.

Choosing this “Viv” hat sponsored by Jamie Slye to compliment this dress was a no brainer. It too has an amazing rich color and fun story to got with it. The Viv is made in the USA, completely crushable, and water repellent. If you’ve seen my three year old son Grant you’d know that I NEED this kind of durability with anything that he comes in contact with.

Lastly, I paired my booties from Old Navy to finish off this look and I was all set. This OOTD with take you no time to get dressed and can easily be duplicated. Send me pictures and leave me comments about how you could style a similar OOTD. Enjoy!

Holiday Sequins | OOTD

In my mind, November 1st officially kicks off the holiday season. Besides, I’m already hearing Christmas music so I might as well offer some fashion advice for the many holiday parties that are to come. This is the perfect time to break out something bright, exciting, and unexpected. It’s fun to stand out,be festive, and have your outfit be a conversation piece at holiday gatherings.

Besides your traditional red, green, and white try SEQUINS! This sequins jumper sponsored by Dresslily.com has beautiful geometric shapes and patterns to really make a statement. I love the idea of a one piece outfit. It just simplifies getting ready  and offers you an alternative to a regular top and bottom.

When it comes to accessories, I added a statement necklace that fit the neckline of the jumper beautifully. I went more conservative with my earrings, shoes, and jacket. Who knows, if it never warms up this season you could even go with out a cover up. Add in a rosy red lip and you are all set! Leave me a comment about your fun fashion ideas for holiday parties. Enjoy!

Falling for Floral | OOTD

This two piece cut out sponsored by DressLily.com is my version of Fall Floral. Ha ha! I know its laughable but Fall in Texas is still 80+ degrees. This floral design does have richer tones with a  hint of deep orange. These colors definitely make this look more “Fall appropriate”. Of course, to make it feel more like Fall I layered a fuzzy collared denim jacket on top and my Coach Preston booties on bottom. Now, if it would only cool down just a bit more. Enjoy!

Navy Bomber | OOTD

Just say NO to boring bombers ladies! Bombers are trending right now but at some point it can feel like “seen one seen them all”. I like to bring a bold edgy element to many of my looks and I did that easily by going for a long calf length bomber instead of the cropped one you’ve seen a million times. My friends over at Makemechic.com we so gracious to send me this amazing piece and that quality is amazing. It’s well made and will definitely keep the chill off whenever if decides to really cool down in Houston. A minimalist graphic tee from Richly Clad, long line necklace from Charming Charlie, and fantabulous over the knee boots sponsored by my RoseGal.com family, really makes you look twice at all these shades of blue. I’m smitten over this look but leave me a comment and tell me how you’d style this ultra cool bomber. Enjoy!
